    The Amy Winehouse Teen Jazz Summer Intensive is geared to talented teens who want to heat up their jazz and improvisation skills by learning to interpret and perform jazz and blues repertoire. All instruments welcome. Students must play at an intermediate level, but may be new to jazz.

    WEEK-LONG INTENSIVE INCLUDES:

    -Individual and group instruction
    -Small group ensembles with daily coachings
    -Special guest teaching artists
    -Jazz history and culture, composition and arranging
    -Daily master classes; previous guests have included Matt Wilson (Dewey Redman), Richie Vitale (Frank Sinatra) and David Bryant (Steve Coleman)
    -Final showcase performance

    SAMPLE SCHEDULE:

    9:00 – 10:30 Ensembles
    10:30 – 11:15 Lessons/Ensembles
    11:15 – 12:00 Lessons/Lunch/Ensembles
    12:00 – 1:00 Master Class
    1:00 – 2:00 Jam Session

    Program Director BILL STEVENS is a renowned jazz pedagogue and trumpet player, and former Director of Jazz Studies at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts.
