Founded in 1919, YWCA Camp Hochelaga is a place where girls can become their best selves. The Hochelaga mission is to provide girls with opportunities to develop new skills, explore interests, take on leadership roles, and build environmental awareness. Camp Hochelaga is the last girls-only YWCA residential camp in the United States.
Through a broad array of programs in arts, sports, swimming and boating, nature activities, and longstanding camp traditions, girls ages 6-17 are encouraged to have fun, express themselves, and create friendships that will last a lifetime. Camp experiences provide a great foundation for girls’ to explore and grow in a safe, nurturing environment.
We offer one-week and multi-week sessions, in residential camp and day camp formats. There is also a residential “Mini-Camp” several times during the summer , for girls who may be new to overnight camp. Girls choose programs from a menu of options each week, including:
•Arts & Crafts
•Nature and Environmental Awareness Programs
•Racial Justice Workshops
In addition, there are special events, banquets, a weekly camper-run newspaper, “The SCAMP,” and a plenty of free time to spend with cabin mates.
