    The Manufacturing Mechanical Design & Support Department consists of three engineering sections: Tool Engineering, Packaging Engineering and Digital Manufacturing. The successful candidate(s) will have opportunities to work within or across all of these sections.

    U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled college student and actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree within Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Product Design, Aerospace, Material Science, Systems Engineering, and etc.
    • Ability to work full-time for approx. 10-12 weeks
    • Must be Export & Import Control Compliance, must be a U.S. Person as prescribed by 22 C.F.R § 120.15
    • Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance (Must have U.S. Citizenship)
    • Minimum GPA for consideration is 2.90 on a 4.00 scale
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent written and Verbal Communication skills

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Product Design Experience
    • Computer Aided Design skills (Creo Preferred)
    • Machine Shop knowledge or experience
    • Additive Manufacturing & 3D printing
    • Proven & Demonstrated academic track record leading and drive projects to completion
    • Enjoy working in a group environment where emphasize is more on team achievement
    • Continuous Process Improvement skills & training (6-Sigma)

    Education:
    This position requires a progression towards a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in a field such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum cumulative/overall GPA of 3.0.

    This position can be a Salary Grade ST02, Salary Grade ST03, Salary Grade ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate’s qualifications and standing as outlined below:

    • ST02 (Sophomore Technical Intern) – Must have completed 30 hours of college
    • ST03 (Junior Technical Intern) – Must have completed 60 hours of college
    • ST04 (Senior Technical Intern) – Must have completed 90 hours of college
    • ST05- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) – Must have an undergraduate degree, and currently seeking a graduate degree

    This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
