    We’re looking for individuals with awesome skills who stand out in a crowd. If you’re top of your class, own the hackathon circuit, think big and are perpetually curious, we want you!

    What is the opportunity?

    The Amplify program is an intensive summer internship where students are put on cross functional teams and given a real-life CNB business challenge. Over the course of the summer you will have access to subject matter experts, coaches, mentors, as well as technical and professional training. At the end of the summer you will have the opportunity to present your solution to a panel of judges, and our top teams will be awarded scholarships or funding for their ideas.

    We are looking for Data Scientists, Developers, and Business Analysts.

    What will you do?

    • Immerse yourself in a business challenge with an intense focus on collaboration to develop an innovative solution.
    • You will be challenged to step outside your comfort zone, and bring your teamwork and collaboration skills to help your team succeed.
    • You will be expected to design, create and deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) to CNB that solves a real business need.
    • You will play an integral role in engaging your critical thinking, time management and leadership skills within your team.
    • Design, troubleshoot and develop your solution.
    • Work with subject matter experts, mentors, executive sponsors (technology and business) to build your solution.
    • Exposure to design thinking, agile development and other tools, technologies and methodologies.
    • Executive presentations, developing strategy and communications for your project.

    What do you need to succeed?

    • Must be graduating from post-secondary studies between August 2018 and May 2019 (College, Undergrad, Master’s or PhD).
    • Currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution with a focus on business, technology, finance, marketing, design, or other related fields.
    • Ability to understand and communicate business value.
    • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with end users and clients to understand their needs.
    • Excellent critical thinking, time management and leadership skills.
    • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced team environment.
    • Ability to challenge the status quo, and think outside the box to develop solutions.
    • Excellent teamwork, collaboration and problem solving skills.

    Data Scientists should have experience with one or more of the following:

    • Experience with deep-dive analytics, predictive modelling or algorithms.
    • Experience with machine learning, pattern intelligence, computational mathematics, bioinformatics or artificial intelligence.
    • Experience with natural language processing.

    Developers should have experience with one or more of the following:

    • Experience with cloud platforms and related technology.
    • Experience with mobile application development.
    • Exposure to block chain platforms.
    • Experience with full-stack technologies such as Spring Frameworks, Angular, NodeJS, etc.
    • Experience with data handling technologies such as AJAX, JSON, RESTful APIs, etc.

    Nice to have

    • Experience with hackathons.
    • Experience with business presentations.
    • Project management skills.
    • Solid understanding of financial business insights, FinTech industry, start-up industry or other related insights.
