    • Works closely with all appropriate University departments and staff in the daily operations of the Academy.
    • Oversees the day-to-day functions of the Academy
    • Assists in the recruitment of local, state, national, and international students
    • Assists in the recruitment and supervision of internship programs for the Academy.
    • Assists in conducting workshops, training and/or academic teaching within the field of emergency management, homeland security, or international humanitarian assistance.
    • Assists in the facilitation and management of scholarship programs for the Academy.
    • Oversees scheduling of Academy’s space utilization.
    • Provides leadership in the course development, including undergraduate level coursework.
    • Drafts correspondence and memorandum varying in length, format, and subject matter related to Academic of International Disaster Preparedness.
    • Oversees scheduling and quality control of Academy’s special events, including catering service.
    • Assists in the management of alumni programs, including alumni fundraising activities in collaboration with FIU-Foundation.
    • Assists in the development of academic courses, non-credit bearing courses, certificates, workshops, and training.
    • Possess a vast and comprehensive understating of emergency management at the local, state, and federal and international level
    • Assists in the recruitment and credentialing of English and Spanish speaking, faculty, adjuncts and guest speakers.
    • Attends conferences related to Academy initiatives.
    • Oversees all record keeping and documentation related to AIDP in accordance with University, local, state, and federal guidelines
    • Establishes and maintains close relationships with private, local, state, federal and international stakeholders to foster participation in reciprocal partnerships, agreements, and memorandums of understanding.
    • Coordinates with internal administrative support personnel related to: personnel tracking, procurement, finance, travel, payroll, bookkeeping, property controls, general counsel, and fleet management.
    • Researches, drafts, submits, and oversees local, state, federal and private grants.
    • Develops and manages all Academy web content and social media platforms.
    • Engages in public presentations and community outreach activities.
    • Research potential grant opportunities
    • Coordinate the submission of final grades rosters for all academic classes
    • Develop and present at the annual fall orientation to welcome students
    • Develop Blackboard/Canvas LMS Systems in accordance with instructor syllabus
    • In the absence of the executive director attend internal and external stakeholder meetings
    • Perform other related duties required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional duties that are logically related to the position
