    Avionica, Inc. is an established avionics company located in South Florida. Our company provides services to airlines, OEMs, and maintenance facilities worldwide with our extensive portfolio of flight data recorders, satellite communication systems, 4G and Wi-Fi datalink equipment, and data processing solutions. Avionica’s continued growth offers an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Intern to become part of our dedicated engineering team.

    The Software Engineering Intern will have an immersive exposure to end”to”end applications under the guidance of our senior engineers in the design and implementation of actual company projects with an opportunity to apply his/her existing skills and abilities, and learn many new ones, in PC, FPGA, (embedded) Linux, wired, and wireless data networking technologies.

    Responsibilities:

    “¢ Gain familiarity with company products and services, both airborne and ground-based.

    • Follow senior engineering personnel in the research, design, and implementation of hardware and software solutions for new Avionica products as well as new features to existing products.
    • Assist the engineering team in the development of wireless and wired data networking systems including software/hardware solutions, FPGA-based designs using VHDL or equivalent languages, Windows ® and Linux-based software for personal computers, airborne embedded devices, and/or hand-held devices.
    • Assist in the creation of technical publications with the description of product functions, operation, test, and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Complete moderately complex tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
    • Commitment to comply with the requirements of Avionica’s Quality System Manual for airborne products.
    • Continuous improvement of the quality management systems effectiveness.

      Learning Objectives:

      “¢ How to prepare engineering materials for the aviation industry, which is leading the world in thoroughness.

    • How to develop reliable, effective, and efficient high-tech products that will find their way into the world’s airliners.
    • How to conduct robust, thorough investigations into ill-defined “issues”.
    • How to define conclusive test procedures to prove a feature or issue still is, or is no longer present in the system.
    • How to keep a complex, large-scale engineering data repository complete, correct, and reliable.
    • How to be part of a team of driven aerospace engineers who do it all, from customer requirements trawling via innovative hard and software development, aircraft installation design, and aviation certification, all the way to on-wing install and test sessions on airfields all over the world.

      Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Currently enrolled or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s in Engineering.

    o Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro-mechanical, Software, Systems.

    • Familiarity with Raspberry Pi.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong ability to express ideas as well as to listen attentively to instructions.
    • Strong skills in note-taking, written reporting, and self-organization including time management.
