    JOB SUMMARY:
    BrandStar is a fully integrated media and television production company, expert at generating brand awareness for our partners through compelling, positive content-driven story lines that provide the opportunity for brand partners to connect more powerfully with their audiences across multiple screens, online and on-air.
    Interns do far more than just fetch coffee for the BrandStar office; they are expected to take an active role in their office environment. As an Intern, you will be responsible for performing various job functions such as helping to organize meetings, seek out new clients, performing administrative functions and providing support across the Programming, Digital/Social Marketing, Production, Brand Services, and Creative Services departments. Interns will learn each facet of content marketing in each department, and will gain hands on experience in the field of television marketing and production, as well as leadership, collaboration and relationship management.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Programming -Researching for DOP’s, identifying websites for tradeshow directories and contacting magazines to collect editorial calendars.

    Market Research
    o Identifying consumer brands for our shows.
    o Conduct research to find decision makers (DMs) and Brand Executives.
    o Identify consumer brands from Trade Show directories.
    o Research relevant and trending topics to our shows.
    o Conduct research in the field.
    Content creation-
    o Requesting media kits and Editorial Calendars
    o Contact consumer magazines
    o Identifying brands that align with the show
    o Use editorial Calendar and trending topics learned to identify brands and their competitors that target the female audience.
    Leadership Development
    o Intern will gain key insights from BrandStar leaders on various topics such as motivation, team building and collaboration.
    o Interns will be assigned to one of three programming teams and will be expected to participate in morning training meetings, as well as evening training sessions hosted by the founder of BrandStar.
    Brand Marketing
    o Intern will learn the tools for Consumer Marketing for our shows and the Lifetime Network.
    o Interns will learn and understand pain points of various brands, how to market to women and work directly with the Directors of Programming (DOPs) to align shows with Editorial Calendars.

    • Digital Services & Social Media Marketing ““Graphic design, web analytics, creating and writing PR communications. Social Marketing- social media marketing strategies, Facebook and Twitter content creation and promotions, develop internal Social Media Editorial Calendars, introduction to paid vs. organic social engagement.

    o Digital Marketing- managing viewer relationships across a variety of digital channels respond to and initiate viewer and audience interaction. Interns will learn and understand digital marketing segmentation, work with WordPress to optimize landing pages.
    o Search Engine Marketing- Interns will learn and understand Paid Search and becoming Google AdWords Certified. Interns will learn and understand how to perform and read Google Analytics, learn and understand organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

    • Production- Working with studio equipment, sit in on filming and learn the process involved in producing our shows.

    o Production Operations- support on-air productions and video shoots, work with producers behind the scenes in the control room, learn and understand the video switcher and terminologies learn and understand special effects.
    o Production Management- interns will learn how to manage and organize production, and post production, orchestrates studio production.
    o Production Workflow- interns will learn how to effectively maintain asset management and organize distribution.

    • Brand Services- Learn brand research for our shows as well as the basic tools of account management.

    o Brand Research and Development- Interns will be gathering data about product fit for audience, learn how to compare a brand, its customers’ needs and its competitor’s offerings (Points pf Parity), learn and understand the creative brief, creating a brands strategic direction.
    o Relationship management- learn basics of being an account executive, sit in on calls and campaign presentations to clients, gain understanding of planning with the creative team that produces designs campaigns, learn problem solving and project management.

    • Creative Services Division- Assist the creative team with developing a library of shareable content to include in the show. Interns will use Facebook, Vine, Instagram and other forms of digital media to search for content.

    o Digital Digest- Interns will develop a digital library; learn how to use social media outlets to search for digital content that can be used on our shows.
    o Creative Direction, Development and Execution- Interns will learn all facets of developing the direction of our shows. Review and edit scripts under the direction of the Creative Director, review shows and submit feedback to use for improving content, look and feel. Interns will participate in show break downs, editing and creative steering committee meetings. Interns will learn and understand the impact of the creative department on our shows.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Undergraduate Student currently earning a degree in related field -Applicant must have completed their Junior year by program start
    • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age by the time the program begins
    • Student must have at least 3.00 GPA
    • Student must be available for full duration of internship program.
    • Must be able to work 8.30 am-5.30pm work schedule
    • Prior internship experience working in a fast paced corporate environment preferred
    • Ability to work in a professional and confidential environment
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook
    • Strong written and verbal skills, strong communication skills.
