    JOB SUMMARY

    The summer internship program provides current college/graduate students the opportunity to work on meaningful, project-based assignments in various non-clinical areas. Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning/support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis. Students typically work full time during the summer program, which runs from mid May to early August.

    The Security Analyst Intern will support the existing Cyber Security Analysts and Engineers. This may include providing assistance with projects and support with incidents and requests submitted in ticketing system. The intern will help with documentation and testing as projects progress, and will devise and document new procedures.

    EDUCATION

    • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Security, Information Systems, or related field

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

    The Security Analyst Intern will:

    • Completes requests and incidents submitted by users via IIS&T’s ticketing system
    • Tests Information Security solutions and software prior to production roll out
    • Completes and reviews documentation for projects or any operational effort.
    • Performs detailed analysis of business needs and possible improvements of Cyber Security impacts or considerations and translates into actionable items
    • Provides system performance monitoring and troubleshooting
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
    • Tracks key performance indicators

    SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

    Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

    Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
