    Business Group Overview
    Hubbell Commercial & Industrial ( HCI ) offers an array of electrical and electronic wiring devices, wire management systems, occupancy sensors and specialized wiring products. We’re a comprehensive source of electrical boxes, fittings and enclosures for a variety of world-wide markets including harsh / hazardous location, commercial and residential markets, as well as, providing innovative solutions for high voltage power supplies and test equipment, heavy duty cable management, industrial, outdoor and hazardous location communications equipment.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

    The Sales intern will support the Southern Region, specifically a District sales team with servicing electrical distributors and end users. The candidate will learn specific activities and skill sets required to be an effective Territory Manager in the Wiring Device-Kellems sales organization.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The intern will expect to:

    • Develop sales measurement/marketing tools, quotation support, sales lead generation
    • Build submittal packages, expediting orders
    • Conduct inventory reviews
    • Participate in trade show events and joint travel
  • Upon completion, the intern will:
    • Have a basic understanding of how Hubbell WDK works with various customer types to drive sales activities and grow overall market share
    • Gain product and application knowledge with the ultimate goal of developing required skill sets that provide a general overview of what daily activities are to become a successful Hubbell Territory Manager
  • Measurable goals for internship:
    • Weekly Time Management/Joint Travel reporting, impact on sales results in the assigned territory, examples of sales support tools developed and overall contributions to team productivity
    • Final presentation to Executive Staff
    • Ultimate goal to obtain Sales Trainee position located in Shelton, CT
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Student must be a Junior, Senior or Graduate-level actively enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Business Administration or Marketing
    • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
