    Internships are short-term work experiences for a designated period of time that allow college students the opportunity to observe and participate in the professional work environment, to explore how his/her interests relate to possible careers, and to gain practical experience in an industry relating to their field of study.

    Aegon Global Technology (AGT) provides IT infrastructure and application support services to the Aegon businesses. AGT is responsible for the provision, support and ongoing maintenance of IT operating platforms, applications and services. There is also a strong connection with external providers necessitating vendor and service provider management. AGT is responsible for driving the technology strategy and providing IT infrastructure solutions that are in alignment with business objectives and the AGT technology strategy.

    This internship will be part of the Identity Management team supporting the Active Directory group. This team specializes in all aspects of Identity Management supporting an internal workforce infrastructure for over 25,000 accounts. Focusing on identity lifecycle, governance, authentication, authorization and federated SSO. We also support a robust environment that supports 9 million external user identities for SSO, B2B and B2C capabilities. Our team is very focused on leveraging cloud tools and operates using Agile project methodologies.

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively communicate and participate in a professional manner with all Aegon associates team members and supervisors.
    • Provide weekly written updates to manager.
    • Analyze business and data requirements to develop models that communicate functional needs for identity applications.
    • Perform unit, application and integration testing on newly developed identity solutions
    • Perform quality assurance by following up with divisional contacts to ensure appropriate access is being granted.

    Technical and Soft Skills to gain/improve throughout Internship:

    • What Identity Management is and its role in large organizations – managing the lifecycle of an account, protecting web based http resources, single sign on to cloud applications.
    • How to work in a multinational environment.
    • How to work with other team members to help design, develop, test and document security tools.

    Qualifications

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong communication skills
    • Self-starter
    • Able to multi-task
    • Interested in working in large corporate technology department
    • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
    • Preferred majors: MIS, Computer Science, Computer programming
    • Position will be located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa & will run from May 2018 through August 2018.
    • To be eligible for an internship, students must be currently enrolled in a college or university actively pursuing a degree. Candidates must not graduate prior to completing the internship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiar with PowerShell, understanding network topology & Domain Name Services preferred.
    • Basic understanding or Windows Operating Systems File Systems preferred
