    This position will be with AEGON Asset Management, the organization which oversees asset management for many of Transamerica’s insurance and operating companies as well as third party clients. The global AEGON Asset Management organization has operations in Europe, the United States and Asia. Primary offices in the United States are located in Cedar Rapids, IA, Chicago, IL and Baltimore, MD. AEGON Asset Management and Transamerica are both part of the AEGON NV group of companies.     Position Overview:
    The intern will be responsible for assisting the Vendor Management Office (VMO) as deemed necessary; however, the emphasis will be to assist with the implementation of a contract management system. Job description and work scope to include

    • Review of existing contract database. This may include maintaining existing records and creating new to ensure consistent entry for upload in to new contract management system.
    • Review and updating of existing workflows. Currently, some processes are manual and will require updating and memorialization to ensure alignment and efficient utilization of new contract management system.
    • Working with various departments to retain documents and submittals necessary for vendor management governance reviews.
    • Standard copying of various documents for vendor management governance reviews.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with implementation efforts of Ariba Contract Management system.
    • Analyze business and data requirements to develop models that communicate functional needs for vendor management and contract management system.
    • US Vendor Management team supports multiple clients including other global Asset Management units, Aegon, Transamerica and third parties. This position will help the VMO meet the demands from all departments including Aegon USA Realty Advisors, Front Office (Portfolio Management, Research, Sales/Marketing/Distribution, Product Development), IT, Compliance, Legal, ORM and Finance.
    • Effectively communicate and participate in a professional manner with all Aegon associates, team members and supervisors.

    Required Qualifications:

    To qualify for internship, applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a specific degree program. Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.
