  • The Field Museum is pleased to announce the 2018 Regenstein Pacific Collections Internships. These two paid internships for full-time working over a 12 week period during the summer or fall months in 2018 will focus on co-curation, i.e., integrating the hands-on care & curation of our museum collections with global heritage management. One intern will be helping us add imagery and information about the Museum’s outstanding collections from Fiji and Hawai’i to our new Anthropology Collections Portal (http://www.fieldmuseum.org/node/22086). While most of the items in these collections are already imaged, some new photographic work will need to be done by the intern assigned to this project, and prior familiarity with digital technologies will be helpful. The second intern will work with us to develop ” best practices” standards for the co-curation of collections throughout the Museum using our new partnership with Chicago’s Filipino/a-American community (http://philippines.fieldmuseum.org/heritage/narrative/4161) as a model.

    Qualifications

These internships will be awarded to individuals currently studying anthropology, art history, museum studies, or a related field who have proven verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated familiarity with anthropology as a discipline, and the ability to work effectively as members of a team on a variety of tasks. Ideal candidates will have good interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills and have some familiarity and experience with object photography.

    Application Instructions

Interested candidates should submit the following documents via the Museum’s FluidReview site at fieldmuseum.fluidreview.com:

    • Letter of application
    • Resume
    • Transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
