    Performance Profile

    Kimball Electronics, Fabrication, is looking for college interns to join our creative team of engineers who are working to develop systems and conduct analysis for a wide variety of companies and industries. Our engineers are hard-working, smart, goal-oriented and creative, and they are looking for summer interns to train and to participate in every level of system design and orientation. The interns hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of manufacturing, and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge. Also, this internship program is highly regarded in our field, so successful participation will be a great addition to your resume.

    The primary responsibility of this role will be to assist Quality with qualification and validations for the injection molding process with the implementation of our new state of the art injection molding department. This internship opportunity is located in Indianapolis, IN and reports to the Quality Manager.

    Some additional projects for our summer interns:

    1. Assist Quality with qualification and validations for the injection molding process

    • Assistance with validation protocol draft, execution, coordination and reporting
    • Assistance with balooning of prints, inspection documents, and inspections

    2. 5S Project of file keeping (electronic and hardcopy)

    3. Floor Support and CI support

    4. Process/Procedure updates for the mold room move relating to quality

    5. Develop and Improve Receiving Inspection Documentation

    6. Implementation of IMQS Modules to improve efficiencies in Quality and other departments

    7. Quality Management System Improvements

    Requirements

    We are looking for an enthusiastic intern who is an Engineering major at an accredited college or university, with abilities in MS Office, Minitab, AutoCAD and other analytical and planning tools. They should possess strong analytic and statistic skills, and have the ability to work independently.

    Note: If attending a local college or university, successful interns may have the opportunity to continue part-time during the semester.
