    What you get to do: We’re looking for a housekeeping intern to join our team this Winter/Spring/Summer season, someone who is not afraid to get down and dirty. This internship will focus primarily on the operations side of housekeeping, but will encompass all aspects of the department. This individual should be hardworking and efficient with an eye for detail and an enthusiasm for guest care.

    Your day-to-day:

    • Be familiar with open and closing procedures
    • Sit in on daily and monthly departmental meetings
    • Engage with employees of all levels
    • Shadow room attendants, laundry attendant, mini bar attendants, housemen, and managers
    • Assist with day-to-day operations, including stripping rooms, assisting mini bar attendants, be familiar with how to make a Kimpton bed, delivering linen, and responding to guest requests and deliveries.
    • Be familiar with ordering systems
    • Organize and keep all linen closets clean
    • Assist with inventory
    • Other duties assigned by Housekeeping supervisor

    Specific skills we’re seeking:

    • Able to communicate effectively in primary languages, written and verbal, preferred.
    • Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
    • Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays and weekends.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires a commitment of at least 20 hours per week.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be enrolled in college/university and need school credit.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
