    Minimum Hours: 400 hours per semester. Must have at least three days of availability Monday”“Friday 8 a.m.”“5 p.m. Flexible schedule.

    Qualifications/Ideal Candidate: Self-starter, highly motivated, takes initiative, and has a strong desire to learn and help others. Dependability, reliability, good written and oral communication skills, high attention to detail, and organizational skills are required. Must be able to multi task, prioritize, and have strong decision making skills. Must have a current driver’s license, clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check.

    The student will gain insight into the following areas:

    Teamwork““Work as a proactive team member while completing the assigned projects in a manner that will best benefit the individuals served by CCRI.
    Leadership““Paired with multiple veteran leaders within the organization who will role model effective leadership and share their management philosophies.
    Business Operations““Focus on the human resource role within a nonprofit organization and gain an inside look at how an organization operates, the laws and regulations associated with operation, and strategies and decision making involved in the
    daily operation of the business.
    Employee Supervision““Learn strategies used for employee relationship building and retention, hiring team members and
    addressing performance issues.
    Advocacy““Develop advocacy skills by learning about tools and resources available to advocate someone with a disability.

    The student will experience the following under the direction of a supervisor:

    • Assist with review and verification of candidate applications including conducting Motor Vehicle Record checks. email/mail rejection letters to individuals who are not selected.
    • Schedule, set up, and participate in face-to-face and video interviews.
    • Participate and represent CCRI in various recruitment strategies involving career fairs, presentations, profile searches, emailing, etc.
    • Participate in team-builder activities, department meetings, FMHRA meetings, and various CCRI events throughout the community.
    • Assist in open enrollment process for employee benefits.
    • Assist with new hire reporting.
    • File, maintain and purge employee documentation such as W-4s and I-9s. Assist with I-9 compliance audit.
    • Convert employee personnel files into electronic files in SharePoint through scanning documents and sorting employee data.
    • Assist with entering and tracking required employee training.
    • Create New Hire Packets and Orientation Folder for new team members.
    • Participate in verification of payroll summaries.
    • Create and maintain files for pay code summary and timesheets.
    • Positively support and promote CCRI’s Health and Wellness program.
    • Adhere to CCRI’s Guiding Principles by maintaining confidentiality, having a positive attitude, treating others with respect, being flexible, accepting responsibility, and utilizing open and effective communication.
    • Exhibit an ability to take initiative and be able to anticipate needs of others.
