    We are currently seeking an intern to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year in our Transportation Planning group in our Saint Paul, MN office. The Intern will work in a team atmosphere with experienced professionals who provide quality service to public transportation clients at the local, regional and state level, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods while supporting community and regional goals.

    The Transportation Planning Intern will gain valuable experience in:

    • Data collection and various levels of technical analysis; tasks may include work in a variety of areas:
      • Transit service planning
      • Transit environmental documents
      • Transit corridor studies
    • Report and memo preparation
    • GIS data analysis and product development
    • Community engagement materials preparation and execution

    Requirements and Preferences

    • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a university’s urban planning, transportation planning, urban studies, or related program
    • Master’s degree preferred but not required
    • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year on-site at our Saint Paul office located at the Westgate Station on the Green Line
    • Ability to work independently, but with a willingness to collaborate
    • Strong MS Office Suite skills
    • GIS experience required
    • Experience working with National Transit Database a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Firsthand experience riding transit
    • If applicant is currently a student, those with 1-2 semesters remaining to complete their degree are desired
