    The Springfield location has an opening in the Power Production Division for a Geographic Information Systems internship. This is a paid internship and may be available for cooperative credit. This position offers employment beginning in the of Summer 2018. The normal work schedule is part-time during semesters, 40 hours/week
    during the summer months.

    The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and must have excellent communication, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. The candidate will often be delegated projects and expected to take full ownership, coordinating with internal or external personnel and managing all facets of the project with minimal guidance.

    The ideal candidate should possess an educational background consisting of GIS data fundamentals, cartographic design, GIS analysis, and remote sensing applications. This individual will assist in GIS data development, integration, distribution, and maintenance on ESRI’s ArcGIS Server Platform. Experience with Javascript is a plus. The individual will also assist with GPS data collection at AECI’s generating facilities (travel required), therefore Trimble equipment and ArcPad experience is also desired.

    The GIS Intern must have the ability to read and understand various mechanical, electrical, structural, environmental, and architectural drawings. The GIS Intern will be asked to update engineering drawings, therefore AutoCAD experience is desired. Other tasks include reproduction and distribution of drawings, filing, and administration of the AECI electronic drawing library.
