    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

    The Mechanical Engineering Intern in the Killark laboratory will help to complete certification testing for numerous projects. The intern will also help us to scan historical testing data into the lab database so that we can speed up the historical searches as well as make them more complete.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete certification testing:

    • Hosedown Testing
    • LED Thermal Testing
    • Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
    • Pouring seals
    • Thermal Shock Testing
    • Density Testing
    • Impact Testing
  • Scan and file historical records
  • Upon completion, intern will have:
    • A working knowledge of testing specified in UL, CSA, IEC, EN, ISO and ASTM standards
    • Experience with preparing samples for testing
    • Experience with laboratory test equipment
    • Experience with Microsoft Access
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Student must be actively enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
