    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

    The Engineering Intern will participate in process improvement opportunities using Lean techniques as well as learning about: Lean principles, continuous process improvement, problem solving methodologies, inventory management, training techniques and helping to change factory culture.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify areas where a 2-bin Kanban for tooling replenishment would be advantageous
    • Develop Kanban cards
    • Load reorder points into SAP
    • Teach operators how to use the system
    • Improve the system with recommendations and implementation

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Student must be a rising senior actively enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
    • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
