        Job Overview

        TE Connectivity’s Administrative Support Teams are responsible for office administration and daily clerical duties including basic schedule planning, travel arrangements, documentation, and file maintenance. Other responsibilities include scheduling conferences/meeting rooms and responding to general inquiries. They create and maintain office documentation and files and review drafts and finished internal/external communication documents.

        Responsibilities & Qualifications

        This position will report to Repeater Subsystems Engineering Group (SAB), where all Optical Amplifiers, Branch Units, and Wavelength Management Units subassemblies are manufactured. The candidate will be part of the Process Engineering team that is responsible for all process and product engineering of new technology introduction to manufacturing as well as supporting daily operations of product assembly and certification.

        The Candidate will support the process engineers in specific assignments related to Process Improvements and in support of manufacturing enhancements.

        The intern is expected to complete 2-3 well defined projects in 8-10 weeks internship.

        Responsibilities:

        • Create and/or improve engineering/product data reports.
        • Create and updated Fixture Inventory list by area for all fixtures including physical location.
        • Update active work instructions with global changes and revisions as required by engineering.
        • Complete a fiber/splice training package based on latest best practices.
        • Observe assembly operators product build and document any variations from work instructions.
        • Intern may be shared with other departments if necessary.

          Qualifications:

        • The candidate should be a university senior majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mech. Eng., or Industrial Engineering Program. M.S. program candidates will be also considered. A candidate who just graduated college and enrolled in a graduate program will also be considered.
        • Excellent Computer skills especially in MS office.
        • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
        • Strong Technical writing skills and abilities to follow assembly work instructions.
        • Positive attitude and ability to multi task working on multiple projects with different levels of assembly operators and engineering resources.
        • Strong Data analysis abilities are highly desired.
        • Background in fiber optics is highly desired.
