    Job Responsibilities:
    Summer Farm Immersion Internship- May to August
    Stipend included with possible room and board depending on availability.

    Green Chimneys (a non-profit located in Brewster, New York) has an opening inour Boni-Bel Summer Farm Immersion Program.

    The individual will learn farm related tasks such as maintaining a flock of organic chickensand preparing fresh eggs for sale, making gift baskets, bee-keeping, harvestingvegetables, maple sugaring, and assisting in special events such as SaturdayFarm Markets.

    Explore a world ofpossibilities, discover new skills, investigate a unique professional directionand meet new people through a truly rewarding experience at one of the mostinnovative facilities for the education and treatment of children with specialneeds. Participants interact and assist students with special needs how to runan organic farm and country store. Participants have opportunities to observestaff provide activities designed to help individual students following NewYork State Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) standards.

    Ourprofessional farm staff at Boni-Bel models sustainable agricultural practices,and students are involved in the operation of the farm including organicvegetable/fruit production (from cultivating soil to seed propagation andplanting to harvesting), landscaping, bee-keeping, maple syrup production,small machine operation. Students practice retail and customer service skillsat the Country Store while selling products (vegetables, Maple syrup and craftsmade at the farm or locally) to the public.

    Job Qualifications:
    Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
