    Job Summary

    AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented entry level landscape architectural designer intern for immediate employment in the New York City Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Studio. The studio is based in AECOMs collaborative lab at Industry City in Brooklyn.

    In collaboration with design studio leadership, the candidate will work closely with project design teams and project landscape architects, managers and designers to design and assist in the execution of projects within the New York City metropolitan area, nationally and internationally. Projects in the studio are design-driven and involve close collaboration with engineers, planners, cost estimators, and other technical consultants.

The Landscape Architecture and Urban Design portfolio in the New York City studio includes a broad range of urban-based, multidisciplinary public realm projects, such as resiliency and green infrastructure, plazas, streetscapes, parks, waterfronts, infrastructure, urban design plans, master-planning, and ecological restoration. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in performing design & planning work of studio
    • Prepare hand and computer drawings
    • Project support and coordination
    • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

    • Currently in pursuit of an Accredited Degree in Landscape Architecture
    • Demonstrated production experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Rhino.
    • Excellent verbal, graphic, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage time and self-edit work.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Someone that is a team player and possesses the ability to collaborate as part of a diverse studio team.
    • Someone that is passionate about what they do and about building better cities.
    • Possess the skills to generate exceptional two dimensional and three dimensional design graphics.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
