    OFFICE DESCRIPTION:

    The Alumni Affairs team supports current students by connecting them to former New York City public school students (alumni) through mentoring, service, and volunteerism, and supports alumni through professional and academic resources.

    INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILIES:

    The Alumni Affairs Communications Intern would help lead the DOE’s exciting new public school alumni initiative, p.s. alumni, in marketing and communications to help reach our goal of engaging 40,000 alumni by 2020.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Strategizing and developing complex and creative marketing campaigns on social media and subway advertisements to recruit and engage public school alumni
    • Managing p.s. alumni social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and Twitter
    • Creating a robust content plan for p.s. alumni social media and website, including creating original media, posts, op-eds and other written and digital content

    QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIAL SKILLS/AREA OF STUDY:

    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Proficiency with WordPress, HTML, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred, but not required
    • Passion for communications strategy, including digital media, social media, marketing, photography and videography

    APPLICATION PROCESS

    SALARY

    $14.93 per hour
