  • Swell is looking for an accountable, responsible, and reliable Communications Intern to support our Communications team for Summer 2018. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the Swell brand with a can-do, proactive, team-oriented approach to work.

    What youll do:

    • Assist in administrative duties
    • Monitor + track all forms of media for coverage and relevant competitor / industry news
    • Build and update media lists and databases
    • Manage sample send out process and closet
    • Schedule and coordinate various internal meetings + activities
    • Communicate and build relationships with internal departments
    • Assist with creative mailings and events
    • Create interview preparation materials
    • Perform research and market analysis activities

    What you’ll have:

    • Passion for the Swell brand and consumer PR industry
    • Relevant coursework or prior internship experience required; emphasis in Journalism, English, or Communications a plus
    • An attitude which is positive, adaptable, and flexible
    • Strong desire to learn and contribute
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

    What you should know about the Swell Internship Program:

    • The 2018 Summer Internship runs 10 weeks total from June 4th through August 10th
    • Interns must be able to work Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm (1 hour will be designated for lunch)
    • Interns should be students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
    • Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students will have first consideration
    • Swells headquarters is in the Flatiron neighborhood of New York City; all Interns should have transportation and/or housing in or around the NYC area
    • This is a paid Internship and therefore credit is not required, however credit can be given when necessary
    • All Interns must have proper authorization to work in the United States
    • In addition to the above responsibilities, all Interns will be given the opportunity to use the skills theyve learned throughout the Summer to put together a presentation on a topic of their supervisors choosing. The topics will focus on ways to improve processes, products, designs, and territories at Swell
