    SiriusXM’s Advanced Analytics team is looking for a summer intern to help perform analytics that will drive business strategies in the Marketing Department. The Advanced Analytics Intern will be responsible for developing his/her own solutions using a programming language of their choice as well as communicating their findings with a variety of levels of the business.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Be an active listener in requirements discussions with business stakeholders to understand the scope, expectations, and data/algorithmic requirements for performing analytics requests.
    • Identify what data sources should be used for analyses and collaborate with SXM subject matter experts to understand context and data artifacts.
    • Develop experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses.
    • Perform basic data manipulation, extraction and pre-processing of data sources to capture the necessary levels of information required for analyses.
    • Research available algorithms and coding packages to understand dependencies, limitations, assumptions, and mathematical or statistical constructs that determine appropriate usage.
    • Develop and well-document steps performed in each analysis, including preprocessing methods, assumptions, decisions made with regards to data manipulations and calculations as well as processes and packages used.
    • Present findings in small group setting to key business stakeholders with the aid of visualization tools to illustrate analysis process and outcomes in small group setting.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • You must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Must be enrolled in a U.S. based college, university or trade school to qualify.
    • Minimum of 3+ years of college education with a STEM major or focus to coursework or enrollment in a Data Science intensive program.

    Requirements and General Skills:

    • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
    • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principles.
    • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
    • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

    Technical Skills:

    • R, Python, Matlab, Perl or other computer language.
    • Experience with SQL.
    • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
