    Internship Overview

    Eataly is seeking a Purchasing Intern for Summer 2018 to work with and learn from Eatalys Purchasing team. This internship is a unique opportunity for hands-on, professional experience with a fun and dynamic team. Get a taste of what life is like as an Eatalian!

    Under the supervision of the Head of Purchasing, Grocery, the intern will:

    • Learn about Eatalys Purchasing process from start to finish: sourcing, selection, negotiation, pricing and success analysis
    • Manage inbound requests from producers and assist in proactively sourcing new producers
    • Collect samples and information on new products
    • Coordinate and organize tastings for the entire Purchasing team
    • Participate in tastings with the team to analyze flavor profiles, pricing and other pertinent factors
    • Take notes during tastings and handle follow up
    • Conduct market research on product pricing
    • When possible, attend meetings with producers and local food shows
    • Work on a special Purchasing project related to the interns studies, skill sets and interests

    This internship runs from June 4 Aug 17. The intern will be scheduled 40 hours per week, Mon Fri from 9 am 5 pm. Internships at Eataly are paid an hourly rate. Housing and transportation costs are the responsibility of the intern.

    Qualifications

    • Actively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree
    • Rising junior or senior
    • Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of food and beverage
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to take direction and work independently
    • Working knowledge of Italian is preferred
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
