    2018-011-INT: Electrical Engineering Intern

    Directorate Intelligence & Defense Solutions
    Riverside Research is seeking an electrical engineering intern with strong foundations in Matlab, and probability and statistics analysis to support a signal processing/operations research project from our Beavercreek, Ohio office. The engineering intern will be assisting in the formulation of a signal processing toolbox in Matlab for the processing of geo-intelligence data based on investigating mobile structure activity. The project is comprehensive in the sense that the intern will participate in the formulation of tri-part processing formulism where an object of interest is 1) detected, 2) tracked, and 3) the multiple path information taken by a mobile structure evaluated and ranked accordingly for subsequent decision making. The intern will not only process data but will document results in poster form/powerpoint presentation form for presentation to a technical audience.

    Job Responsibilities:
    “¢ Create 1-D and 2-D numerically simulated data and analyze it using advanced signal processing techniques based on state estimation and state-action estimation

    • Interpret statistical results using concepts from machine learning and operations research
    • Assist in developing new approaches to the analysis of data using ideas from machine learning
    • Create poster and power point presentation of results for dissemination to a technical audience
    • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

    “¢ Currently pursuing an Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics (BS ) degree at an accredited institution of higher learning

    • Experience with computer programming and data analysis in MatLab
    • Experience with probability and statistical analysis, and signal and image processing algorithms preferred
    • Must be self-motivated, possess a willingness to learn new skills independently, and be comfortable following directions
    • Internship to start in the spring/summer; intern works 40 hours per week. One week of unpaid vacation during the summer will be permitted; flexible start and stop dates
