    Job Overview

    TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 ““ 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity.

    This includes but is not limited to identifying security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing protective measures and responding to any information security incidents. The Cyber Defense Team is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing controls that protect the assets of the company and providing integration and orchestration of the information produced from those controls.

    The Cyber Defense Intern will focus on a specific category of security (Operations, Investigations, Network, Server, Identity and Access, Endpoint, Application, Incident Response, Authentication/Authorization, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Automation/Orchestration, etc.) and will serve as a resource in that area.

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Responsibilities will vary based on the candidates experience and goals aligned with the needs of the Cyber Defense Team. The following are some examples of potential responsibilities:

    • Web development
    • Scripting and Automation
    • Security Event Monitoring and Investigation
    • Security Data Analytics
    • Security Training and Awareness
    • Penetration Testing
    • Security Assessments
    • Incident Response
    • Security Control Management (Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Endpoint Detect and Response, Vulnerability Management, etc.)

    The qualified candidate will possess:

    • A passion for security and technology
    • That ability to stay current with emerging security trends.
    • The motivation to learn by investigating, learn from others and share their knowledge
    • Experience with at least one programming/scripting language
    • Experience in understanding networking technologies and protocols
    • Systems Administration experience with Windows and/or UNIX-based operating systems
    • Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong English oral/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
    • The willingness to challenge legacy ideas and articulate new thoughts
    • Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s program during Summer 2018
    • GPA of 3.0 or higher
