  • The duties of the Engineering Internship will be focused on supporting the execution of projects at Schreiber’s Shippensburg, PA production facility. This individual will work closely with plant Operations and Maintenance teams. We are seeking candidates available to work year round, part-time hours during the school year (15-20/week) and full-time hours during summer and winter breaks (40 hours/week).

    Detailed Description
    The duties of the Engineering Internship will be focused on supporting the execution of projects at Schreiber’s Shippensburg, PA production facility. This individual will work closely with plant Operations and Maintenance teams. The duties will be varied and may include:

    • Project work – Work with plant maintenance, operations, installation contractors, and equipment supplier to implement capital projects which include safety improvements and modifications to cream cheese processing systems.
    • Provide design, engineering and troubleshooting support to the project team to ensure successful execution of capital projects. This support needed will entail both mechanical and electrical disciplines across multiple projects.
    • Complete Piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) documents for plant – Complete revisions to plant P&ID drawings. Involves tracing process lines and identifying controls in place and documenting them on drawings. Involves using AutoCAD.
    • Provide plant general arrangement layout updates as necessary to support current projects and future project planning.
    Job Requirements
    We’re looking for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments. Successful candidates will have:

    • Completed Sophomore-level status or higher toward a BS degree in a Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering program (must be currently enrolled in school during the time of the internship)
    • Ability to work year round, part-time hours during the school year (15-20/week) and full-time hours during summer and winter breaks (40 hours/week)
    • Effective communications skills
    • Ability to work well with Plant Partners, Engineering Partners, as well as Partners in other departments
    • Ability to take ownership of assignments and complete them on time
