    Description

The Applied Research Laboratory invites candidates to apply for the Diversity Outreach Opportunities in Research (D.O.O.R.) Internship Program. The 10-12 week (May to August) research-focused internship program is open to achieving students from Penn State, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Minority Serving Institutions with whom ARL has a research partnership. Students selected for the program will serve as active, hands-on, contributing members of the research staff at ARL. A strong possibility exists for establishing a continuing research project between ARL and the researcher`s home institutions. Research projects include topics in Additive Manufacturing, Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles, Big Data Analysis, and more. In certain cases research topics can be decided by the intern. This outreach program is available to students in their junior or senior year in the physics, engineering, computer science, and materials science disciplines. Interns will work up to 40 hours per week. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
