    An internship with Information Technology Services (ITS) will kick start your career journey.     Work you’ll do
    This internship requires technical expertise and strong communication skills. This role is responsible for assisting with efforts to assess, maintain, or improve information security safeguards protecting Deloitte and client data. Also, this role is responsible for providing consultative assistance to the organization on an as-needed basis concerning information systems controls. This role will assist with educating practitioners on information security policies/standards and best practices. This position requires the candidate to be flexible in the ability to coordinate various responsibilities and duties in order to properly support changing priorities.

    Illustrative Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-Day administration of information security tools and devices, analyzing new/existing security threats and security measures to safeguard against them, establish/updating actionable security metrics, and monitoring and review of the information ticket queues.
    • Assist with the development, implementation, and support of information security solutions and programs.
    • Build collaborative relationships with project teams and other stakeholders to foster transparency and customer service.
    • Assist with the adherence and enforcement of information security policies, standards, and best practices.
    • Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical staff.
    • Assist with the creation and maintenance of information security processes and procedures.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
    • Up to 10% travel required
    • Expanded authority/discretion to handle complicated and basic cases, as necessary. Would work closely with Manager/Sr. Managers /ITS/Stakeholders, as applicable, on unique cases and issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis of complicated or unique situations and make recommendations to ensure analysis is complete and accurate. Review root cause analysis and make recommendations for process changes to ensure similar issue does not recur.

    As an Information Technology Services intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work in one of four ITS Service Lines: Deloitte Applications Studios (DAS), Technology and Infrastructure (T&I), CyberSecurity, or Technology Management Operations (TMO). Here you’ll get the chance to work with an experienced team on projects that will build on your technical and business skills and help our clients achieve a higher level of service in operational efficiency and business value. Depending on your role, you’ll will have the opportunity to engage in cyber risk detection and prevention, web/mobile application design and development, web hosting, database administration and management, and overall business operations.

    Qualifications
    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or relevant educational or professional experience. (Sophomore or Junior Standing)
    • Exposure to audit, compliance or governance experience preferred.
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
    • Some knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles
    • Some general knowledge of information systems and cyber security
    • Proven ability to communicate technical and security concepts to a non-technical audience, both via written and verbal communication.

    Preferred:

    • Strong academic track record (minimum 3.2 GPA)
    • Ability to work independently and also cross functionally and as part of a larger team.
    • Excellent time management and related organizational skills, including appropriate sense of urgency, a proactive approach, and a suitable ability to anticipate and manage task priority.
    • Proven attention to detail.
    • Proven ability to quickly acclimate to new environments and complex situations.
