    University of Texas and University of Houston – Master’s Level Social Work Internship for Spring 2019

    Location: Boys Ranch, TX 79010
    Schedule: Monday – Friday
    Salary: Stipend – $10,000
    FT/PT Status: Internship

    Job Responsibilities:
    This position is for Master’s level Social Work students from the University of Texas at Austin & University of Houston, for final field placement, Spring 2019!

    Assists in the provision of behavioral health services for residents, to include short-term, time-limited individual, family and group counseling and related treatment modalities. Assists in the provision of mental health assessments for residents as needed. Assists in the provision of crisis intervention for residents, to include the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques. Assists in the provision of direct crisis intervention counseling as needed.

    Students interested in pursuing these internships should submit an application along with a copy of a current resume by April 1, 2018. Applications should be sent with a cover letter explaining why you are applying for a social work intern position with the organization. Applicants will be screened, and selections made before the end of the Spring 2018 semester.

    Job Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program from an accredited university in Social Work is required.
    • Experience in equine and other experiential therapies is preferred.
    • Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
    • Must be proficient in general office equipment operation.
    • Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
    • Proficiency in general office equipment operation.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
