    Position Description

    As a Product Manager Intern for CarMax, you will be responsible for discovering and delivering a product that is valuable and usable for our customers as well as feasible to implement from a technology and business point of view.

    Throughout the duration of the 10 week internship program, you will have the support of a CarMax Product Manager mentor and work closely with a cross-functional team of Product Designers, Developers, and Analysts. You will participate in product team rituals, conduct user interviews, analyze data, and work with stakeholders across the business to ensure that your team is able to create and launch a product that drives outcomes for the business and your customers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Vision and Strategic Leadership
    â- Acquire and grow a knowledge of the customer ““ serving as an expert voice of the customer on the product team
    â- Acquire and grow a knowledge of the retail and automotive industries, specifically from the point of view of how technology is being applied to power the customer experience
    â- Assist in defining product goals and KPI’s

    Product Delivery
    â- Define product requirements, stories and personas.
    â- Assist in managing an opportunity and product backlog
    â- Ensure a successful product launch
    â- Monitor performance and metrics post-launch; identify and drive improvement opportunities

    Team and Process Development
    â- Drive collaborative innovation amongst team to identify unique solutions to complex problems

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    â- Actively pursuing a Masters or post-graduate degree with a focus in Business Management, Product Management, Technology, or related field.
    â- Prior E-Commerce or Agile work experience a plus.
