    DIVISION OVERVIEW:
    For more than forty years, R.W. Lyall has been providing quality products to the oil and gas industry. With more than 200 employees located across two facilities ““ Corona, CA and New Berlin, WI – Lyall produces and distributes 22 product lines that are designed for ready-to-use service.     POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Hubbell Summer Internship Program is a 10-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

    The Engineering Intern will create work instruction templates and start the process of documenting work procedures for all areas. Documentation of equipment is important for safety, ease of training, and efficiency of methods of work. The Engineering Intern will experience creating work instructions, teach others how to create work instructions, audit existing work practices, and create a system and forms on how to document actions on the plant floor.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with personal on the floor to document the safe and proper way to operate manufacturing equipment and assemble gas distribution products
    • Gather existing documentation for operations and equipment and consolidate into one set of work instructions for each operation or assembly
    • Train the leads and key floor personnel on how to document what they are doing so it can be managed long-term
    • Work with administrative staff on how to input data from the floor
    • Set up a process of review to ensure that the work instructions are reviewed prior to being entered into the system and posted on the floor
    • Assigned other work as needed

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Student must be a rising junior or senior actively enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
